Since visiting the Opera House, I was extremely interested in the concept behind the logo design and therefore decided to research who designed it. I found that the designer who designed the logo was inspired by the process of the initial architectural designs where the architect 'Jørn Utzon', used a series of elliptical shapes to design the curvature of the structure. I found this process in itself really inspiring as it shows how the shape is part of a bigger scheme of designs which have been cut back to form the building structure. The branding identity has used the same process except transferred it across into motion graphics software to create 3D models of the designs. The process is truly stunning and can be seen in the video on the following page http://www.underconsideration.com/brandnew/archives/new_identity_for_sydney_opera_house_by_interbrand_and_collider.php#.Vw-GcsdifoA
The geometric process has also been transferred into an amazing 3D typeface design.
