OUGD502 - Manchester Art Gallery - Matthew Darbyshire - An Exhibition for Modern Living

Back in January, I was in Manchester City Centre and decided to visit the Manchester Art Gallery as there was an exhibition based on modern living. I felt as though this exhibition would expand my knowledge on Modernism however, many of the installations has post modern attributes as it was looking at modern fine art from todays standards instead of the Modernist principles of the 40's-50's. I found much of the work very hard to relate to any graphical principles as much of the instillations were very abstract pieces therefore, I took this opportunity to focus on the way finding systems in and around the gallery.
