In hindsight, I would have liked to come up with more distinct design ideas for the posters however, I had already taken the photograph of my cat and therefore the photograph informed my design ideas instead of the other way around. The forest photoshoot however, was very considered as my design ideas depicted a jungle scene as the background image to represent the genre ‘jungle music’. I would have also liked to come up with a logo to represent myself on the posters but, as my practice emerges, I feel that a logo will be developed into my designs and design boards. I have also used my context of practice knowledge to inform the design decisions of my presentation layout and my design boards typeface and composition. This modernist design will be reflected in future briefs alongside my studio projects. Constructing my online presence has been a long and tedious task however, I really feel as though my social network accounts are striving in leaps and bounds every day and are helping to build and cement my place amongst the creative industries. These sites are have also become a huge influence when locating inspiration from other designers work and I now find myself watching more inspirational talks and podcasts throughout this process.
The self branding poster project has really seen me build my confidence when having to roam around the city centre with a bucket of wallpaper paste and a brush to put up the poster designs. I feel that stepping outside my comfort zone like this with hundreds of people watching me will help to build confidence in other areas such as presentation speaking. It has also pushed me to utilize my new found online presence by approaching other designers and design studios using twitter and my work email address. This project has massively helped me to evoke a sense of bravery within myself.
