OUGD402 - Grid Systems in Architecture
Walking to University, I have noticed a new building being built which has most of its scaffolding and steel grid systems on display. I found this very intriguing, after the lecture on grid systems in newspaper and magazine design I could see similarity's in graphic design and architecture elements. What I found even more alluring is that images for the concept of the finished building are displayed on walls around the building site. This gives you a side by side comparison of the grid system currently in place, and the finished product. The concept for the finished building shows windows, features, text and texture much like a finished magazine product would include. Whereas the building at the moment shows the geometric layout and composition of the building.
The look of the building is also very inspirational as I felt that the pattern and features could be used in inspiration for a future graphic design project
