After our professional talk with The Elephant Room during employability week, I approached Shannie about GUAP Mag and we exchanged emails to stay in touch. To show my appreciation, I sent her one of my Acid House Publications as a thank you. She then posted it up on her instagram with a heartwarming message which has really helped me to see what impact we can have on professionals. Since then, we have gone on to stay in touch via email and are looking to hopefully meet up in London soon.

OUGD602 - Hyde Park Book Club - Skint Store Artwork Sale
Whilst visiting the Hyde Park Book Club, I noticed a pop up store called 'Skint Store'. This was a great chance to view artwork from local designers and practitioners, I have taken down some of their names to possibly reach out to them in the future for collaboration etc...

OUGD602 - Interview at 'Music'
After the email reply, I went for an interview at Music Agency. I learned a lot from my first interview at DJ Mag a few weeks ago and was much more relaxed and prepared. It seemed to go really well with the people viewing my portfolio being very interested in the work. I also gave them one of my screen printed posters to keep for around the office.

OUGD602 - 27 Club Exhibition
After my competition submission for the 27 Club, an exhibition was held showcasing all of the designs. This also included a printed publication to further boost the publicity of the artists involved.
It was a great opportunity to celebrate one of my projects with my peers and members of the public, and was a really valuable experience moving forward to hopefully showcase my work in more exhibitions in the future.

OUGD602 - Creative Careers Fair 121 Mentoring
Leeds Arts University recently held a creative careers event with 1-2-1 mentoring sessions. I booked a session with an industry professional to talk about funding applications. My interest in this area was influenced by one of our talks during employability week which discussed grants and government funding for teaching art abroad. Notes from this talk can be seen here OUGD602 - Rose Nordin - Professional Talk & Zine Workshop. This one to one session gave me some great tips and resources to help me apply for funding abroad in the future.

OUGD602 - Estorick London - Modern Italian Art Gallery
Estorick is a small gallery based within Islington, London which specialises in modern italian art. This gallery was another great experience to open myself up to more artistic styles and influences. I see much of my influence in music and art currently transferring to foreign influences such as Spanish and African. With music being my biggest inspiration, the sounds are really inspiring me to consider much more unorthodox and historical styles, as can be seen in my last project using influences from Aztec origins.

OUGD602 - PPP Session - Reaching out to Creative Professionals
During one of my Extended Practice briefs, I created exhibition branding designs for The Henry Moore Institute and used them as a hypothetical client. However, during a PPP session with Alec, methods of reaching out to companies were shown using tools such as Hunter and LinkedIn. Therefore, I used these resources to triangulate sources, finding the personal email addresses of staff which I then sent my branding designs off to.

OUGD602 - Leeds Digital Job Fair 4.0
Much like Leeds Digital Job Fair 2.0 and 3.0, this event was a great opportunity to get myself out there and network with industry professionals. This time however, the event was more relevant as I am coming up to graduating my course. Even though many of the companies were not design specific, it was still a good opportunity to hand my CV out to some organisations with in house designers, marketing and advertising teams. These contacts may lead onto bigger opportunities in the future.
