My recent involvement with Mixmag has resulted in them commissioning me to conduct some freelance animation work for their social media and online pages. This experience was an amazing opportunity to showcase my skills with the hope that this will result in further work for this company.

Remove everything online which states I am a Leeds Arts University student to appear more professional online
Undertake your own briefs instead of competition as this will help show your skills and interests, your portfolio should show the employer your personality.
You should be a problem finder, not a problem solver...
Conduct projects that have real-world applications and test them
Never ask for an unpaid internship.

OUGD602 - The Design Kids Professional Talk & Workshop
Surprisingly, TDK talk and workshop was extremely beneficial to the development of my professionalism and how I represent myself both online and in person. The activity sheet completed and tips given really has effected how I will update elements of my practice such as my professional emails, CV and my direction once graduating. I will use this activity sheet as a guide to help me fill out and update my CV for job proposals this year. The session gave me more clarity on what jobs will possibly be right for me when I graduate and what to search for when trying to find a job after uni.
One other important important lesson which I learnt through this talk was to not think or worry about the money, if you do what you love then the money will come naturally. Frankie's drive and carefree outlook on life was a real inspiration on how to perceive situations in my own life. I listed down some bullet points of other helpful tips and techniques to carry through into my own practice below:

Frankie's drive and carefree outlook on life was a real inspiration on how to perceive situations in my own life. I listed down some bullet points of other helpful tips and techniques to carry through into my own practice below:
- Give as much as possible, the more you give, the more you will receive from creatives within the industry.
- Try to attend design events at least once per week and engage with the industry as much as possible.
- Start a personal project driven by what your interests are and what you want to produce (link in with extended practice)
- Enter as many design competitions as possible
- Really engage with your lecturers whilst you have the chance
- Design a business card ASAP this will be instrumental when engaging with professionals at events.
- Be vocal in your profession and make sure everyone knows that you are a designer
- Research your top 10 studios globally
- Put up your final work onto #TDKpeepshow
I have also given Frankie my email address and contact details with the hope to possibly run TDKtuesdays within Leeds.

OUGD602 - Great Art London
Great Art is a huge design store within the centre of London, whilst there I managed to pick up some great supplies to help me with future projects and got some really good advice off some of the staff working there.

OUGD602 - Revisiting the Mixmag Studios
After my first visit to the Mixmag studios, I got invited to come back in again for a second visit where we discussed the possibility of an internship. I also got some hands on experience and insight with some of the filming and live streaming equipment. I have also been offered to conduct some freelance design work for the following week.
