OUGD602 - University Book Sale
Whilst returning to university library over the summer to start planning for my context of practice dissertation, I found that many of the books were being sold for 50p each with the proceeds going to charity. Therefore I found this to be the perfect opportunity to stack up on some valuable source material and academic literature. I purchased over 90 books in the process, consisting of a range of different creative subjects from architecture to fashion design.
I highly regard the importance of varied and unique source material from a broad range of artistic genres. Gathering my research and literary reading from a variety of distinct source material on a regular basis throughout the year will be sure to broaden my creative knowledge and aesthetic diversity. It may even open my mind to new and unique ways of thinking when tackling a brief and thinking creatively.
Some of the books I even bought for aspects such as unique binding methods or compositions. For example, a couple of the books are in different languages and even though I cannot read them, they offer for some really unique layouts which can only be found on work originating from other cultures.
